Remi Wolf melalui siaran pers mengatakan bahwa 'Cinderella' adalah kolase liris dari suka dan duka serta perubahan suasana hati dan gaya hidup sementara yang ia alami saat menulis album ini.
Perjalanan yang terus-menerus dan perubahan yang cepat membuatnya merasakan emosi yang bergejolak - mulai dari merasa tidak aman menjadi merasa sangat baik hingga merasa mania dan tertekan, lalu merasa baik-baik saja lagi, sambil sangat mendambakan sosok yang membumi untuk memberi tahunya bahwa ia melakukan pekerjaan dengan baik.
Lagu ini membuatnya berperan sebagai ibu perinya sendiri yang mengatakan pada diri sendiri bahwa ia memegang kendali.
Wolf ingin lagu tersebut memiliki nuansa nostalgia tahun 70an namun tetap terasa seperti rekaman yang dibuat saat ini.
